About
the Life of Lord Gautam Buddha
Lord Gautama Buddha was born as Siddhartha
Gautama in the 6th century BC in Lumbini, Nepal. He was born to King Suddhodana
and Queen Maya. According to Buddhist tradition, at the time of his birth, it
was prophesied that he would become a great king or a great holy man.
Siddhartha spent his early years in luxury
and was shielded from the harsh realities of life. However, he became
disillusioned with his life of privilege and started to question the meaning of
existence. He left his royal life and began a spiritual journey, seeking
enlightenment.
For six years, he practiced severe austerity
and meditation, but it did not bring him the answers he sought. He then decided
to sit under a Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India, and vowed not to rise until he
had achieved enlightenment.
Buddha's teachings emphasized compassion,
mindfulness, and the importance of living in the present moment. He encouraged
his followers to look within themselves for answers and not rely on external
sources.
After 49 days of intense meditation, he
achieved enlightenment and became the Buddha, which means the "enlightened
one." He then traveled extensively, preaching his message of the Four
Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, which he believed was the path to
liberation from suffering.
The Buddha passed away at the age of 80 in
Kushinagar, India. His teachings continue to inspire and guide millions of
people around the world to this day.
When
was GautamBuddha born?
Gautama Buddha was born in the 6th century
BC, although the exact year of his birth is not certain. According to Buddhist
tradition, he was born in Lumbini, Nepal, on the full moon day in the month of

shielded from the harsh realities of life. His father tried to protect him from
the suffering and the troubles of the world, so he was not allowed to leave the
palace grounds.
However, at the age of 29, Siddhartha left
the palace and encountered the "four sights" that changed his life.
He saw an old man, a sick man, a dead man, and finally, a monk, which made him
realize the impermanence and suffering that are inherent in life.
He was deeply affected by what he had seen
and decided to leave his royal life behind and set out on a spiritual journey
to seek the truth and the end of suffering.

was trained in martial arts, archery, and horse riding.

father, who wanted him to become a great ruler, did everything in his power to

pleasures and fears. However, Buddha remained steadfast and focused on his
goal.

Mahatma
Buddha's first sermon
Mahatma Buddha's first sermon, also known as
the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, was given to five ascetics at the Deer Park in
Sarnath, India, soon after he attained enlightenment.
In his sermon, Buddha talked about the Four
Noble Truths, which are:
v Dukkha
(suffering): All beings experience suffering, pain, and dissatisfaction in life.
v Samudaya
(the cause of suffering): The cause of suffering is craving and attachment,
which arise from ignorance and delusion.
v Nirodha
(the end of suffering): Suffering can be ended by the cessation of craving and
attachment.
v Magga (the path to the end of suffering): The path to the end of suffering is the Eightfold Path, which includes right understanding, intention, speech, action, livelihood, effort, mindfulness, and concentration.
This first sermon is considered to be the
foundation of Buddhism and is still studied and practiced by Buddhists today.

Mahatma Buddha died in Kushinagar, a town in
the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, which was then part of the Malla kingdom.
According to Buddhist tradition, he died at the age of 80 in a grove of sal
trees known as the Sala Grove, while lying on his right side.
This event is known as Parinirvana, which
means the final passing away or complete Nirvana. The Buddha had announced that
his death was near, and his disciples had gathered around him to hear his last
teachings.
After his death, his body was cremated and
his remains were divided into eight portions, which were enshrined in stupas
